| Welcome to Ms. Levine's Classroom | | Welcome to Fifth Grade Room 1217. My name is Brenda Levine. My students call me Mrs. Levine. I have been a teacher at Phalen Lake since 2004 and have been teaching for Saint Paul Schools since 1998. I received my teaching degree from the University of River Falls-Wisconsin. I have received an Urban Learner Teaching Certificate from Hamline University, and a Master’s Degree in education from St. Mary’s University. I bring a unique perspective to Phalen Lake. It is no secret that I am a "country girl." I grew up on a dairy farm in a rural Wisconsin community and currently own a beef farm Wisconsin and a construction trucking business with my husband. We have cows, horses, dogs and cats and spend as much time as possible outdoors camping, gardening, hunting, etc. I spend much of my free time training and showing my reining horses. Also, I'm a huge Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan. I look forward to a wonderful year and am excited to be taking an important role in your child’s education. With that said, always remember you are your child’s first and most influential teacher. I get to influence your child 30 hours a week, the remaining 138 hours are up to you. Your support is vital to your child’s attitude and success. It is important to model and instill a sense of responsibility, trustworthiness, respect, fairness, caring and citizenship. Young people learn by example, and it is up to us to make sure our examples are positive.
