Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz is one of the greatest poets Mexico has ever known. Sor Juana defended the rights of women to study and write. She was the first feminist of the Americas. Cesar Chavez started the movement called "The Cause," in 1962. This movement fought for human rights and dignity of migrant and farm workers. The movement started in California and spread around the world.

Roberto Clemente was the first Latino to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame. Judy Baca is a great artist known for creating and painting the "Great Wall " mural in California. Her main goal is to spread "Peace" through her art work.
