Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten Pre-Kindergarten teacher Rudina Mathews      I am the Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Phalen Lake Elementary.  This is my seventh year teaching Pre-Kindergarten.  I am a mother of two children who are 11 and 15 years old.  I was born in Chicago,  but grew up in South Minneapolis.  In my spare time I like to run, walk around the lake, watch movies, and spend time with my family.     Zer Yang is the educational assistant who is fluent in Hmong and English.  She has been with the Pre-Kindergarten program since September of 1999.  Zer grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and has worked for Early Childhood Family Education for the past three years.  She is a wife and mother of an eight month old daughter.   Zer enjoys bowling, reading, biking, and movies.   Families are welcome to visit the classroom any time.
